The Jefferson City Transit System bus shuttle service and free bus rides for state workers is coming to an end, the Missouri Office of Administration announced Friday.

OA officials will assess the need for alternative parking on a weekly basis.

Since May 28, when the Missouri River started to rise, parking has been limited at the Broadway Building and Truman Building on West High Street as well as the Kirkpatrick State Information Center on West Main Street, causing state workers to find alternative parking locations. During that time, OA worked with JeffTran to offer a bus shuttle service and free bus rides to workers with a valid state ID.

While water has receded in some Capitol Complex parking areas, OA is still encouraging state workers who are able to be dropped off at their office buildings or carpool to do so.

OA will continue to update state workers with parking updates via email. They can also receive updates from OA's Facebook page, facebook.com/MissouriOA and at the OA Twitter account, twitter.com/MissouriOA.

State employees with questions can call OA's Division of Facilities Management, Design and Construction at 573-751-3339.
