One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Boone County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 8:40 a.m. on Northbound U.S. 63, just north of Gilpin Road.

Russell Martin, 66, of Ashland, was accelerating his dump truck in the passing lane while Joshua Kelsey, 40, of Jefferson City, was traveling in his van in the driving lane.

Kelsey changed lanes into the passing lane and struck the rear of Martin's vehicle. Kelsey ran off the left side of the road while Martin came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.

Martin, who was wearing a seat belt, had no reported injuries while Kelsey, who was not wearing a seat belt, was treated for moderate injuries.
