A St. Louis man has been charged in connection with an alleged rape at Lincoln University.
Khalil McDonald, 18, is charged with one count of second-degree rape.
The incident is believed to have occurred early Saturday morning in Dawson Hall, according to a Lincoln University Police Department probable cause statement.
The alleged victim told officers McDonald had come to her room and told her to take her clothes off. She said she had felt intimidated and complied with McDonald's demand.
McDonald eventually "had sexual intercourse with (the) victim," according to the probable cause statement, and, while he did not hold her down, "she felt fearful of him so she did not fight back."
The woman also claimed she had told McDonald "no" several times but he did not stop.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where tests were administered as normally is done in potential rape cases.
While at the hospital, the woman reportedly messaged McDonald on Snapchat saying he had raped her and that she was at the hospital because of what he had done.
McDonald reportedly messaged back claiming it wasn't his intention to harm her, saying, "You did say no, and I should have took it that way."
Police arrested McDonald at Dawson Hall, and while being searched at the Cole County Jail, he was allegedly found to be in possession of a small shank made from a pair of scissors and duct tape. He was then charged with delivery or possession of a weapon at a county jail.d.
As of Monday, McDonald was being held on $20,000 bond in the county jail.
Lincoln University officials said McDonald is currently on interim suspension. The case has also been referred to the Student Judiciary Committee, in addition to any additional investigation/discipline outside of the university.
