A Jefferson City man has been charged after reportedly being involved in a foot chase with officers Saturday.

Ronald Mitchell, 31, is facing felony charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance along with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement said officers were attempting to arrest Mitchell on an outstanding warrant in the 300 block of West Ashley Street. When called out to him, Mitchell reportedly fled on foot and went south into the 800 block of Broadway Street where officers eventually caught him.

Officers searched Mitchell and allegedly found a glass pipe, a loaded .380-caliber pistol and plastic baggies containing methamphetamine and marijuana.
