Nearly 220 electric customers lost power this morning when a vehicle hit a utility pole in western Jefferson City.

Emergency personnel responded around 7:43 a.m. to the crash at West Truman Boulevard and Schumate Chapel Road.

Jefferson City police said Lydia French, 62, Jefferson City, was driving westbound on West Truman Boulevard when her vehicle ran off road to the right just past Schumate Chapel Road, striking the curb. The vehicle continued westbound off road, striking a power pole with its front end and various decorative items on the property of 3004 W. Truman Blvd.

French told police she was not injured.

Ameren Missouri's outage map initially indicated the utility hoped to have power completely restored by 11:45 a.m., but the map showed no further outages in the area by 8:50 a.m.
