Blair Oaks High School crowns 2018 prom royalty

Blair Oaks High School held its prom Saturday at Capital Ritz in Jefferson City with the theme of "Crystalline Ball."

Following the Grand March of the 2018 seniors Saturday, Payton Branson and Isaac Prenger were crowned king and queen.

Branson is the daughter of Michael Branson and Kimberly Branson, of Wardsville. Her activities include being art club president, editor-in-chief of the yearbook, color guard, member of National Honor Society and 2017 Missouri Girls State attendee. She plans to attend Missouri State University and pursue a degree in marketing. She was escorted by Andrew Cobasky.

Prenger is the son of Glen and Jackie Prenger, of St. Thomas. His activities include track and field, cross country, FFA, Operation Bugle Boy and St. Thomas CYO. He has enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was escorted by Libby Hausman.

This year's royalty was crowned by last year's royalty: 2017 King Ben Wibberg graduated from the Nevada Welding Institute last year and is currently working in Texas for FWM Mechanical as an ironworker, welder and pipefitter; and 2017 Queen Paige Strope currently attends State Technical College of Missouri to pursue a business degree.

Other 2018 court members include:

Libby Hausman is the daughter of Charlie and Julie Hausman, of Wardsville. Her activities include competitive dance, yearbook and Operation Bugle Boy. She plans to attend Lindenwood University and pursue a degree in dance and business. She was escorted by Isaac Prenger.

Abbey Hoelscher is the daughter of Danny and Angie Hoelscher, of Osage Bend. Her activities include the "The Nest" pep club, IMPACT and Young Life. She plans to attend Ozark Technical Community College to pursue a degree in nursing. She was escorted by Josh Henson.

Emily Yaeger is the daughter of Curt and April Yaeger, of Wardsville. Her activities include cross country, track, student council, Operation Bugle Boy and Missouri High School Rodeo. She plans to attend Missouri State University and pursue a degree in physical therapy. She was escorted by Cole Brenneke.

Cole Brenneke is the son of John Brenneke and Suzanne Fleetwood, of Osage Bend. His activities include track and field, cross country, FCA, IMPACT and St. Thomas CYO. He plans to attend William Woods University and be a member of the track team while pursuing a degree in civil engineering. He was escorted by Emily Yaeger.

Josh Henson is the son of Rob and Sonya Henson, of St. Thomas. His activities include track and field, Operation Bugle Boy and boys volleyball. He plans to attend Missouri Valley College to obtain a degree in computer information systems. He was escorted by Abbey Hoelscher.

Zane Siebeneck is the son of Todd and Beth Siebeneck, of Wardsville. His activities include FCCLA, IMPACT, president of FBLA and National Honor Society. He will attend Truman State University to pursue a degree in biology with plans to be a veterinarian or a wildlife biologist. He was escorted by Madalyn Temmen.
