Big country names to headline Mid-Missouri summer concerts

Larger-than-life and up-and-coming artists will grace stages across Mid-Missouri this summer, between now and Labor Day. The performers will bring a range of genres to the area, offering something for everyone.

Riverside Amphitheater

Several concerts are lined up this summer at the new Riverside Amphitheater in Ellis-Porter Riverside Park, at 300 Ellis Porter Drive in Jefferson City, and the list keeps growing. Band genres range from country to rock, and tickets are already selling fast. Those interested can visit riversideamp.com for concert updates and purchase tickets on Ticketmaster.

May 22 at 7:30 p.m. - Clay Walker and Tracy Lawrence are country artists famous for songs like "This Woman and This Man" and "Paint Me a Birmingham." Tickets currently range from $42-$59.

June 4 at 7:30 p.m. - Little River Band is a 1970s and 1980s rock band known for their songs "Cool Change" and "Lonesome Loser." Tickets currently range from $39-$59.

July 2 at 7:30 p.m. - Chris Janson is a country artist best known for "Buy Me a Boat" and "Holdin' Her." Tickets currently range $35-$177

July 16 at 7:30 p.m. - Steve Earle & the Dukes is a country band who performed "Justice in Ontario." Earle has also made a name for himself, most popular for songs like "Copperhead Road" and "Guitar Town." Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Jefferson Landing "Backyard Concerts"

The free Backyard Concerts at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 100 Jefferson St. in Jefferson City, are back with three summer concerts. To celebrate Missouri's bicentennial, the theme of this year's Backyard Concerts is "Dynamic Duos." Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

June 26 at 7 p.m. - John Williams and Kenny Applebee are a fiddler and guitarist who play traditional fiddle and dance music.

July 17 at 7 p.m. - Shea and Shorty is an acoustic duo who performs a mix of blues, country, pop and rock.

Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. - Dusty James and Abalone Pearl perform a wide variety of acoustic music, including blues and country.

Salute to America

Known for its carnival rides, concerts, and fireworks show, this year's Salute to America festival will once again fill downtown Jefferson City from July 2-4. The concerts at Salute to America are free. Visit salutetoamerica.org for event updates.

July 3 at 8:30 p.m. - Boy Band Review will perform popular hits from the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Boyz II Men and One Direction.

As of May 10, the July 4 main stage entertainment had not been announced.

Jefferson City Jaycees Cole County Fair

The 71st annual Jefferson City Jaycees Cole County Fair will roll into the Jaycees Fairgrounds, at 1445 Fairgrounds Road, July 26-31. Visit the Jefferson City Jaycees Fair Facebook page for future concert announcements and ticket information.

July 26 at 8:30 p.m. - Disco Dick and the Mirrorballs pays tribute to the disco era by performing popular songs from 1970s bands.

July 28 at 9:30 p.m. - Mitch Rossell is a country artist and songwriter, known for "2020" and "Ran Into You," a duet with country star Trisha Yearwood.

July 30 at 9:30 p.m. - Walker Hayes, a country artist most known for the song "You Broke Up With Me," will headline the fair.

Redemption Inside the Walls

With its purpose to connect the Christian community through music, Redemption Inside the Walls will take place at the Jaycees Fairgrounds, at 1445 Fairgrounds Road in Jefferson City, in August. Tickets cost $15-$75, and those interested can purchase them at redemptioninsidethewalls.com. General admission does not include seating, so audience members are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.

Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. - Named 2007 Songwriter of the Year and New Artist of the Year, Aaron Shust is most known for "My Savior My God" and "My Hope is in You."'

Ozark Amphitheater

The Ozark Amphitheater, at 2629 N. Business Route 5 in Camdenton, has a large list of big-name artists for this summer, ranging from country to rock to orchestral. Those interested can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster. For up-to-date information about upcoming concerts, visit ozarksamphitheater.com.

May 22 at 7 p.m. - Aaron Lewis is known for his outlaw country vibes, performing songs like "Country Boy" and "Northern Redneck." Tickets cost $55-$260.

June 11 at 7 p.m. - Country artist Lee Brice, known for "Rumor" and "Hard to Love," has been nominated and received multiple music awards. Tickets cost $35-$438.

June 19 at 7 p.m. - Jamey Johnson, who's best known for the country song, "In Color," will perform with Whiskey Myers, a southern rock and country band. Tickets for this rescheduled concert cost $39-$370.

June 26 at 7:30 p.m. - Rock band Styx, who performs "Renegade" and "Mr. Roboto," will play with Collective Soul, a rock band known for "Shine." Tickets for this rescheduled concert cost $59-$408.

June 27 at 7 p.m. - The Missouri Symphony Orchestra will perform several classical pieces. Tickets cost $25.

July 4 at 7 p.m. - Known for hits like "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "Keep on Loving You," REO Speedwagon is a popular 1980s rock band. Tickets for this rescheduled concert cost $35-$225.

July 9 at 7:30 p.m. - Country artist Jon Pardi is known for songs like "Head Over Boots" and "Heartache on The Dance Floor." Tickets cost $35-$550.

Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. - ZZ Top is an American blues rock band best known for "La Grange" and "Sharp Dressed Man." Presale tickets went on sale earlier this week.

Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. - Shinedown is known for rock songs "Second Chance" and "Sound of Madness." Tickets cost $37-$870.

Sept. 3 at 6:45 p.m. - Brantley Gilbert is a country artist who performs "Bottoms Up" and "One Hell of an Amen." Tickets cost $35-$275.

Regalia Hotel

The Regalia Hotel and Conference Center, at 250 Racquet Club Drive in Lake Ozark, will feature a couple of outdoor concerts at The Hippopotamus Swim Up Bar. Attendees must be 21 years old or older and are encouraged to wear swimwear. Those interested can purchase tickets at ticketor.com/theregaliahotel/.

May 28 at 6 p.m. - American rock band Everclear, best known for its song, "Santa Monica," will perform with rock band Sister Hazel. Tickets cost $45.

May 29 at 4 p.m. - Known by his hit, "It's a Great Day to be Alive," Travis Tritt is a country artist who received several awards in the 1990s. Tickets cost $65.

July 24 at 5 p.m. - A Kansas City native, Tech N9ne is a hip-hop artist known for songs like "Hood Go Crazy" and "Caribou Lou." Tickets cost $50.

Aug. 27-28 at 3 p.m. - Yonder Mountain String Band is a bluegrass band that has done covers of rock band Pink Floyd. The Mighty Pines and One Way Traffic will open the concert. Tickets cost $65 for one night or $100 for both nights. This concert does not have an age requirement, according to the hotel's website.

Shawnee Bluff Vineyard

The Shawnee Bluff Vineyard, located at 8 Tolwood Road in Eldon, will have a few big-named artists this summer. Visit shawneebluff.com/concerts/ to purchase tickets.

June 26 at 8 p.m. - Rodney Atkins, a country artist known for "Watching You" and "Caught Up in the Country," will perform at the vineyard. Tickets cost $59-$1,500.

July 10 at 8 p.m. - Known for "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," Joe Nichols is a country artist who will perform during this rescheduled concert. Tickets cost $44-$1,500.

Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. - Foghat is a 1970s rock band best known for the song "Slow Ride." Tickets cost $49-$1,500.

Missouri State Fair

Located in Sedalia, the Missouri State Fair, which runs Aug. 12-22, announced its first four grandstand concerts earlier this week. Tickets for the concerts will go on sale starting June 29. Visit mostatefair.com for future concert announcements and activities.

Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. - Country artist Trace Adkins, known for songs "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" and "You're Gonna Miss This," will kick off opening night of the Missouri State Fair. Dusty Slay, the youngest comedian to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, will open for Adkins. Tickets cost $25-$35.

Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. - Multi-platinum country artist Russell Dickerson is known for several songs, including "Yours" and "Blue Tacoma." Cassadee Pope, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter known for "Wasting All These Tears," will open for Dickerson. Tickets cost $15-$30

Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. - Boyz II Men is a popular R&B group, known for songs like "I'll Make Love to You" and "End of the Road." Kazual is a band that performs R&B, hip hop and pop songs. Tickets cost $20-$40.

Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. - Country artist Tyler Farr will return to his home state to perform some of his popular songs, like "Redneck Crazy" and "Whiskey in My Water." Tenille Townes is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter who's known for her first official single, "Somebody's Daughter." Tickets cost $20-$30.
