The Central Missouri Renaissance Festival will return Saturday and Sunday at Boster Castle Fairgrounds south of I-70.

Here ye, here ye! Come one and come all as artisans, musicians, pirates and royalty descend this weekend on the village of Carlingford, Ireland - Kingdom City, that is.

The Central Missouri Renaissance Festival is back and kicking off its 16th season spread across three weekends - April 24-25, May 1-2 and Oct. 23-24.

Experience the 1550 A.D. village through a host of characters and festivities. The faire is spread across four stages featuring artisan markets, multiple period-specific encampments, a children's area and craft guild. There will also be games, live entertainment and food vendors.

The land contains a large grassy area for live steel and blunted weapons fighting demonstrations and performances.

Festival gates are open 10 a.m.-6 p.m., located at 4274 County Road 220 in Kingdom City.

Basic tickets for the event cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Other ticket packages offer admission along with souvenirs and drink passes, ranging from $13-$60. Discounted tickets are available by bringing non-perishable food items to be donated to the Fulton Soup Kitchen. Tickets can be purchased through the faire's website, centralmorenfest.net. This weekend is Military Appreciation Weekend, and all active and veteran service members receive free admission. Sunday, May 2, is Free Kids Day.
