If you've ever wanted to learn how to play hockey or see if it's a sport for you, then head over to the Washington Park Ice Arena on Saturday morning.
The Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is hosting a Try Hockey for Free event from 10 a.m. To 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the arena, 711 Kansas St. Equipment and basic skating instruction will be provided and participants must wear socks, athletic shorts and a comfortable shirt. Gear sizing will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The program is designed for those ages 5-17.
