Ready to get out and enjoy some activities with your furry best friend?

Grab your pup and head over to the JCMO Pet Plaza at 1005 Big Horn Drive on Saturday afternoon for the Furry Scurry. Planned for noon-5 p.m., this event is hosted by Kitty’s Critter Care and will include food and fun for owner and dog. Food trucks Love My Gelato and Wrap It Up are expected to be there and Dani’s Flour Pot Bakery will be offering pies (though they must be pre-ordered) and other goodies for sale.

There will be opportunities to give your dog some care and pampering, including walk-in nail trims and information on services provided at the plaza. The plaza has a large space that allows for social distancing during the event.

But the main event will be the Mini Mutt Scramble Races starting at 2 p.m., with registration at 1:30 p.m. To register, participants are asked to make a donation to the Friends of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, with a minimum suggested donation of $5. This race will only be for small dogs, those less than 20 pounds, and each dog will need two people in order to compete, with one at the start line and one at the finish line.

For more information, check out the event page on Facebook.
