I-70 Showdown to feature cars, trucks and bikes

Show set for Saturday at Capital Mall

If you enjoy all things automobile, then head over to the Capital Mall on Saturday for the I-70 Showdown 2020 Car, Truck & Bike Show.

The event, hosted by KC Showdown Promotions, is a charity custom car show open to all makes and models. Set for 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, participants will need to pay $20 to register, but spectators can enjoy the vehicles free of charge.

Denny Eddy, of KC Showdown Promotions, said all proceeds from the show will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City, and it's an event where families can come and safely attend. Eddy said they embrace social distancing practices by having cars spaced out enough so that people can look without crowding between vehicles.

The event is open to all and child-friendly, he said, so parents shouldn't hesitate to bring the whole family.

"We're trying to get people together," Eddy said.

The event also will include food trucks and Eddy noted if the weather heats up, people can cool down inside the Capital Mall, 3600 Country Club Drive.
