Attendees will once again be able to bite into Eldon's "famous smoked turkey legs" at the 34th annual Eldon Turkey Festival this Saturday.

The festival, hosted by the Eldon Area Chamber of Commerce, will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Eldon where vendors selling homemade crafts, décor, jewelry and clothing will line the streets. Live entertainment will play at two stages during the event, and a carnival, bounce houses and other activities will be available for families and children to enjoy.

Eldon's Li'l Mr. & Miss winners will ride in the parade at 10 a.m. Saturday on behalf of the chamber and will be introduced at 11 a.m. on the south stage in front of SPI Enterprises.

The Li'l Mr. & Miss winners are determined by the amount of money received where $1 is equal to 100 votes. All money for votes must be turned in by 4 p.m. today at the Eldon Area Chamber of Commerce office, according to the Li'l Mr. & Miss Contests registration form.

Parade participants are required to check in Saturday at the Eldon Career Center between 8:45-9:30 a.m., and judging will begin at 9:30 a.m. As per usual, parade participants will be judged on theme, originality and visual appeal. Equestrian judging will be in the open field on the corner of Second and Locust streets next to Eldon High School.
