Oscar's Classic Diner has incorporated a new feature - a "back door lounge."
The east side spot transformed its former banquet area in the back of the restaurant into the new space, which includes an area for live music and serves alcoholic beverages. According to Oscar's website, the lounge is open until 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and until 2 p.m. on Sundays, at least for now as the site notes the hours will expand into Sunday evenings in the future.
The diner unveiled the new lounge area on Facebook in early April and has hosted some live acoustic music with more sets planned as a regular feature in the future. The lounge offers draft beer and cocktails, which also are available in the main dining area of Oscar's.
Oscar's is located at 2118 Schotthill Woods in Jefferson City.
