Domino's Pizza now displays a "Now Open" sign at its new location - inside the Walmart on Stadium Boulevard.

Located at 724 Stadium West Blvd. in Jefferson City, the new Domino's is operating where a McDonald's was before it closed in 2018, according to the city building permit.

"The reason we picked Walmart is convenience," said Matthew Walls, senior vice president of global development at Domino's Pizza. "What could be better than being able to pick up your groceries for the week and dinner for tonight?"

The company had initially hoped to open the new location in early September, Walls said.

The nearly 2,000-square-foot Domino's location aligns with the company's "pizza theater" image, where customers can watch and track their pizzas as workers make their food, Walls said.

While the new location is inside Walmart, it will still operate like any other Domino's store, Walls said, noting customers can still order ahead.

"All the same great food, great service and great people will be available at this location as our others, and we cannot wait to serve," he said.

Domino's also has locations at 1717 Christy Drive and 3732 W. Truman Blvd. in Jefferson City
