The Jefferson City community has urged Aldi for years to relocate to a larger store.

Their wish will soon come true.

Aldi will relocate from its current store at 2225 Missouri Blvd. to a new location at 2411 Missouri Blvd.

The building previously housed Mighty MO Cash Saver, formerly known as Moser's.

"We are excited to confirm that we are planning to open a new ALDI store in Jefferson City, Missouri, but do not have further details at this time," an Aldi spokesperson told the News Tribune in an email.

It is unknown when the new location will open.

Jefferson City approved a building permit for the new Aldi store last month.

The permit describes the work as "existing building renovations for a new ALDI food store and lease space."

Jefferson City Building Official Larry Burkhardt confirmed Aldi will relocate to the 2411 Missouri Blvd. location.

Currently located in a 14,000-square-foot building, the new Aldi store will be about 21,450 square feet, Burkhardt said. Aldi will also create a tenant space next to the neighboring Auto Zone shop.

Aldi will not demolish anything at the new location, Burkhardt said.
