Angelina's Cafe will serve its last breakfast plate this week, but don't worry — this might not be the last we see of the popular cafe.
Owner Angela Christian plans to keep Angelina's Cafe open through Friday after selling the 101 Boonville Road location last week.
"We didn't plan on being out this soon, so we don't have a place," she said. " Our goal was to be able to move everything over to another place, but I haven't gotten anything locked down."
Her goal is to find a new home and reopen the cozy little business, but Christian said she was not sure if that new location will be in the Capital City.
Many property owners offer three- to five-year leases, but she wants a one-year lease so she has more flexibility, Christian said. The rent for many Jefferson City locations is also more than she can afford, she added.
"We're still looking. I haven't given up yet," Christian said. "If I find the right price and place, we're not opposed to staying in Jeff."
Since she is not sure when she will find a new building, Christian said she is unsure when she will reopen Angelina's Cafe.
Christian said the Boonville Road building will be transformed into an "art place," but she did not want to reveal who the new owner is.
While known for its down-home breakfast food like biscuits and gravy, pancakes and eggs, the cafe also offers various lunch specials.
