Making the best out of a bad situation, the former manager of Paulie B's is in the process of opening his own seafood restaurant.
Kraken Bar & Grill will feature seafood favorites, along with steak, hamburgers and even pizza, owner Alton Clark said.
After Paulie B's closed earlier this year, Clark decided to open his own seafood place to replace it.
With the help of some friends and his wife, Jennifer, the restaurant has come to life.
They're waiting on some business licenses, but they hope to be open at the beginning of September.
It still needs some work, but Clark hopes to also open an outdoor, covered patio for additional seating.
The Clarks aren't the only former Paulie B's employees to make their way to Kraken - several cooks and waitresses from the old restaurant will work there, Clark said.
Kraken Bar & Grill will be located at 418 W. Elm St. in Jefferson City and will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
