BizBeat: Hampton Inn undergoing rehab

Jefferson City's Hampton Inn hotel at 4800 Country Club Drive is undergoing interior and exterior renovations.

Linda Mullarkey, Hampton Inn front office manager, said the entire exterior of the 20-year-old building is being replaced. The hotel is also renovating every room in the four-story hotel.

Construction started about three months ago and is scheduled to be finished in mid-December, Mullarkey said. Scaffolding covered the face of the front and one side of the Hampton Inn on Thursday. Mullarkey said it took three months to finish the interior renovations on just the first floor. So, construction will likely go on for several more weeks, she said.

Labella Enterprises, an entity owned by the Puri family, owns the hotel. The Puri family also owns several other hotels in Mid-Missouri including the DoubleTree by Hilton at 422 Monroe St., and a Holiday Inn being built on the former site of the Truman Hotel at 1590 Jefferson St.
