Anyone familiar with the television series "Gilligan's Island" is in for a treat at Capital City Production's next musical.
According to director Laura Vedenhaupt, the musical of the same name boasts many scenes that will have you reminiscing of the good old days.
"For anyone who has seen the show when it was originally aired back in the '60s or the reruns, which is how I came across it and I was a huge fan, it's practically like they just picked up the show from the TV and just plopped it on stage and added some music," Vedenhaupt said.
The eight-person cast includes Joe Kliethermes as Gilligan, Sean McCormack as Skipper, Scot Nichols as Thurston Howell, Abigail Nichols as Lovey Howell, Christina Stout as Ginger Grant (with Emma Tracy performing in the role on Feb. 9 and Feb. 15), Blaine Bredeman as Professor, Taylor Kremer as Mary Ann, and Irene Clements as Alien.
"It's a huge nostalgia trip and I am just in love with this musical," Vedenhaupt said.
"Gilligan's Island" opens Feb. 8 and also runs Feb. 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Capital City Productions is located at 719 Wicker Lane in Jefferson City.
Tickets can be purchased at ccpjc.org and are $29 for the show only and $49 for dinner and the show.
