Missouri women's basketball falls at Florida for eighth straight loss

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Missouri Tiger women dug a hole they couldn’t get out of.

The Florida Gators scored 36 first-quarter points to build an 86-70 Southeastern Conference win Thursday.

The Gators led 36-13 after one quarter, 55-30 at halftime and 69-49 after three quarters.

Missouri outscored Florida 40-31 in the second half.

Abbey Schreacke led the Tigers with 16 points, while Mama Dembele had 15 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Grace Slaughter scored 14 points and Hayley Frank added 12 points and a team-high six rebounds.

Missouri shot 23-of-54 (42.6 percent) overall and 8-of-20 (40 percent) from 3. The Tigers made 16-of-19 (84.2 percent) at the free-throw line.

Missouri (11-15, 2-11 SEC), which has lost eight in a row and 11 of its past 13, will host Mississippi at 6 p.m. Monday.
