Girls Basketball: Rock Bridge 74, Helias 49

COLUMBIA -- The Rock Bridge Bruins posted double-digit runs in each of the first three quarters Thursday night on their way to a 74-49 victory against the Helias Lady Crusaders in Central Missouri Activities Conference action.

With the win, the Bruins clinched the CMAC title with a 6-0 record.

A 3-pointer by Kenadi Harrison with a little more than four minutes left in the first quarter gave Helias a 10-4 lead. Rock Bridge then scored the next 10 points to take the lead and led 21-17 heading to the second quarter.

Adalyn Koelling’s second 3-pointer of the second quarter pulled the Lady Crusaders to within two at 25-23 with 4:20 to go before halftime. The Bruins then closed the half on an 11-0 run to take a 36-23 advantage into intermission.

The Lady Crusaders scored the first four points of the third quarter to close the deficit to 36-27. The Bruins then rattled off 12 unanswered points on their way to a 54-34 advantage after three quarters.

Rock Bridge wraps up the regular season at 21-5.

Koelling finished with 17 points to lead Helias (17-9, 4-2 CMAC). The Lady Crusaders will open Class 5 District 5 play at 6:40 p.m. Monday in Union as second-seeded Helias takes on seventh-seeded Camdenton.

In Thursday’s JV game, Rock Bridge defeated Helias 51-35.
