WESTPHALIA -- The Fatima Lady Comets clinched at least a share of the Show-Me Conference championship Monday night, defeating the Russellville Lady Indians 67-49.
Fatima went 2-1 in Show-Me play this season, but the Lady Comets’ JV team also won three games against the remaining three varsity conference foes. St. Elizabeth can share the title with Fatima if it wins tonight against Eugene and Thursday against Tuscumbia.
The Lady Comets led 14-9 after one quarter, but the Lady Indians made three 3-pointers and were 6-of-6 at the free-throw line in the second quarter, trimming their halftime deficit to 29-26.
Fatima answered with a trio of 3s in the third quarter, pulling ahead by double digits at 48-36 entering the fourth quarter.
Alli Robertson led the Lady Comets with 20 points, while Vivian Bax scored 11 of her 17 points in the third quarter.
Ella Volkart had a team-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds for the Lady Indians. Hallee Stewart finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Fatima (17-6), ranked No. 6 in Class 3, has added a game Wednesday against South Shelby in Columbia before wrapping up its regular season Thursday at Jefferson City.
Russellville (14-11, 4-2 Show-Me) concludes the regular season Thursday at Harrisburg.
