Boys Basketball: Capital City 59, Hermann 41

HERMANN -- The Capital City Cavaliers used a balanced scoring attack Monday night to snap a three-game losing skid, topping the Hermann Bearcats for a 59-41 road victory.

Aman Kesete had a team-high 13 points for the Cavaliers, followed by Imran Din-Gabisi with 12 points. Brooks Horton and Grady Payton chipped in 10 points each and Shaun Adams scored eight points.

Capital City led 11-8 after one quarter, then the Cavaliers dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Bearcats 20-5 in those eight minutes to lead 31-13 at halftime.

Hermann (18-6) answered with 19 third-quarter points, but the Bearcats still trailed 43-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

Capital City (10-12) hosts Kauffman tonight for Senior Night. The JV game begins at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity contest around 7:30 p.m.

In Monday night’s JV game, Hermann defeated Capital City 49-37. Bryant Burton and Chase Lewis each scored eight points for the Cavaliers (12-6).
