Girls Wrestling: Edwards moves on to state for Eldon

NEVADA -- Mallori Edwards had a second-place finish to lead the Eldon Lady Mustangs in the Class 1 District 3 Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Nevada High School.

Edwards finished with a 3-1 record in the 110-pound bracket, winning her first two matches by fall. Edwards won a 5-0 decision in the semifinals to clinch her first state berth before losing a 1-0 decision to Holden’s Adasyn Yoder in the first-place match.

Edwards will compete in the Class 1 state wrestling championships Feb. 21-22 at Mizzou Arena.

Eldon’s other district competitor, Jayda Stephan, went 0-2 at 190.

Eldon tied Carl Junction for 23rd place out of 34 teams in the district standings with 22 points. Marshfield won the district title with 210 points.
