Sam Lage won a district title at 135 pounds, while Brookelynn Meeks and Loghan Sumner were runners-up at 130 and 235, respectively, to advance to state for Blair Oaks. Lage and Meeks are both returning state qualifiers, while Sumner will make her first appearance at state.

Lage posted a 4-0 record to claim her district title. Lage won her first two matches by first-period pin, then won her semifinal match 3-0 to clinch a state berth. In the title match, Lage pinned Southern Boone’s Zafaran Satterfield in 3:30.

Meeks had a 3-1 record, pinning her first two opponents in less than a minute before winning a 4-3 decision in the semifinals. Meeks dropped a 3-2 decision to Fatima’s Skyla Schroeder in the championship match.

Sumner went 2-1 at districts, winning her first two matches by fall. Sumner then lost by fall in 1:51 to Mexico’s Alexus Johns in the first-place match.

Halie Eaton and Annie Stewart both lost in the bubble round for the Lady Falcons, finishing one win shy of qualifying for state.

Eaton then lost by major decision in the semifinals and dropped a 5-2 decision to Brookfield’s Mya Sackrey in the consolation semifinals.

Stewart went 1-2 at 105, winning her match by medical forfeit.
