Girls Basketball: Eugene 45, Tuscumbia 36

EUGENE -- The Eugene Lady Eagles snapped a five-game losing skid Friday night with a 45-36 Show-Me Conference victory against the Tuscumbia Lady Lions.

Tuscumbia held a 12-8 lead after one quarter, then widened that lead to 26-14 by halftime. However, the Lady Eagles dominated the second half.

Eugene cut its deficit to 30-28 by the end of the third quarter and outscored the Lady Lions 17-6 in the final eight minutes.

Ryleigh Kliethermes led the Lady Eagles with a game-high 31 points, scoring 12 of the team’s 14 first-half points. Claire Wilbers was next in Eugene’s scoring column with eight points.

Leila Wright had a team-high 13 points for the Lady Lions. Morgan Shreve added eight points.

Eugene (3-18, 1-2 Show-Me) continues conference play Monday at home against South Callaway.

Tuscumbia (6-16, 0-3 Show-Me) hosts Bunceton/Prairie Home on Monday.
