Men’s Golf: Meredith leads Lincoln in The Showdown at Shangri-La

MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. -- Capital City graduate Blake Meredith posted the low total for the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Monday and Tuesday in The Showdown at Shangri-La.

Meredith tied for 65th place out of 93 individuals with a three-round total of 229. Meredith opened with a 73, then shot rounds of 77 and 79.

Remon Rabie tied for 69th place for the Blue Tigers with a 230, posting a 76 and a pair of 77s. Henry Mwanza tied for 82nd place with a 239, shooting a 78, an 80 and an 81.

Austin Shoemaker and Capital City graduate Logen Prock each carded a 242 to tie for 87th place. Shoemaker’s low round was a 77 and Prock’s low round was a 78.

Lincoln finished last out of 18 teams with a three-round total of 933 (305-310-318).

Central Oklahoma won the team title with an 849. Bennett Baldwin of the Bronchos won the individual title with a 202.

Central Missouri’s Alex Gentry (Helias High School) tied for 28th place with a 221. Gentry opened with a 71 and followed with rounds of 74 and 76.

The Mules placed fourth in the team standings with 865.

Lincoln will co-host the Lincoln/William Woods Invitational next Monday and Tuesday at Railwood Golf Club.
