Ardella Lack, a 84-year-old nurse at the Dade County Health Department, accepts an award from Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and Mindy Ulstad, director of Missouri's Senior Community Service Employment Program, during a ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at the state Capitol. Lack received the Outstanding Older Worker of the Year award from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Older workers are the country's "No. 1 untapped resource," according to Missouri Gov. Mike Parson.
"They are sitting out there waiting," Parson told a small crowd assembled to honor the state's Outstanding Older Worker of the Year.
