Tuesday crashes in Callaway, Morgan counties injure three

A Stover man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Morgan County.

Danny C. Cook, 69, was driving west on Missouri 52 near Calico Road when his 2021 GMC Sierra went off the right side of the road.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the truck hit a utility pole, inflicting serious injuries on Cook.

It's unknown whether Cook was wearing a seat belt. A helicopter flew him to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

Two Fulton residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Callaway County.

Charles R. Brown, 74, of Fulton, was driving west on Route Z around 11 a.m. when Douglas E. Perkins, 23, of Bowling Green, turned onto Route Z from County Road 108.

Brown hit Perkin's 2021 Ford F150 with his 2023 Hyundai Elantra, which went off the right side of the road and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Brown and his passenger, Susan C. Mayfield, 74, of Fulton, were wearing seat belts and suffered moderate injuries.

An ambulance took them to the University of Missouri Hospital for treatment.
