Prep Softball: Eugene 14, Russellville 3

EUGENE -- Five Eugene Lady Eagles drove in at least two runs each in Monday’s 14-3 win in five innings against the Russellville Lady Indians in Show-Me Conference play.

Eugene scored seven runs in the second innings and five more in the third to win by run rule.

Tori Schulte led the Lady Eagles at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Shaelyn Boessen and Ryleigh Kliethermes each had two hits and two RBI, Addi Carr finished with two hits and Kaylee Kempker and Olivia Kempker each drove in two runs.

Kaylee Kempker was the winning pitcher for Eugene. In five innings, she gave up three runs on 10 hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Karleigh Grayson and Mackenzie Linnenbrink each had a single and a double to lead Russellville’s offense. K’Lea Basnett and Matayah Steinman each hit two singles.

Eugene (6-6, 2-2 Show-Me) hosts Harrisburg at 5 p.m. today.

Russellville (5-8, 1-2 Show-Me) hosts Jefferson City at 5 p.m. today.

In Saturday’s Owensville Tournament, the Lady Indians lost 11-10 to Vienna, 8-7 to Pacific and 10-5 to Owensville.
