Blair Oaks, Helias and Tipton earn attention in Missouri Media Rankings

The three area high school football teams remained in the polls in their respective classes in the Missouri Media Rankings released Monday night.

The Blair Oaks Falcons (4-0) are the unanimous No. 1 team in Class 3 after last Friday night’s 69-0 win at home against the California Pintos in a Tri-County Conference contest. It’s the fourth straight week Blair Oaks has topped the rankings.

Blair Oaks will travel to Boonville this Friday to take on the Pirates (1-3) in a conference game.

The Helias Crusaders (3-1) remain at No. 4 in Class 5 after falling 30-29 to Class 5 No. 1 Cardinal Ritter last Friday night in St. Louis.

Helias will resume Central Missouri Activities Conference play this Friday, going to Columbia to take on Rock Bridge (3-1).

Capital City (3-1) received two points in the Class 5 rankings after falling 38-28 to Rock Bridge at home last Friday.

The Cavaliers will head Friday to Adkins Stadium to take on Jefferson City (2-2) in a CMAC contest.

The Tipton Cardinals dropped one spot to No. 4 in Class 1 after falling 14-12 at home to Class 3 Orchard Farm.

Tipton will host Wellington-Napoleon (0-4) this Friday.

Three schools -- Blair Oaks, Cardinal Ritter and Lamar -- are unanimous No. 1 selections in their respective classes. Lamar (3-1), despite falling 28-14 to now Class 3 No. 2 Seneca, tops the Class 2 rankings with all nine first-place votes.

Liberty North (4-0) received eight-first place votes to top the Class 6 rankings, with C.B.C. (3-1) getting the other first-place nod.

Lutheran North (4-0) also got eight first-place votes in Class 4. Smithville (3-1), ranked No. 2, received the other first-place vote.

Marionville (4-0) received seven of the first-place votes to top the Class 1 poll. Portageville (3-1) got the other two first-place votes and is ranked second.
