State Senate stonewalls House veto action

by Ryan Pivoney | September 14, 2023 at 4:00 a.m.
Julie Smith/News Tribune Wednesday's veto session proved no different for Rep. Bruce Sassman, R-Bland, in that, as usual, before the start of the day's activities on the floor of the Missouri House of Representatives, Sassman can be found walking around with a bag of mints, offering the individually wrapped candy to anyone who wishes to take one. The 61st district Republican is in his third year of office.

For many lawmakers in the General Assembly, Wednesday's veto session was over before it started.
