The halls of the Governor's Mansion will soon echo with music as pianist Dominic Cheli will perform on Gov. Mike Parson's birthday.

From 3-5 p.m. Sept. 17, ticketholders will be welcomed into the mansion for a special piano performance fundraiser. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Moving Missouri Forward Foundation, which supports children in Missouri. It also benefits the Friend's of the Missouri Governor's Mansion to allow them to continue the preservation of the Governor's Mansion.

Cheli, a St. Louis native, gave his Carnegie Hall Recital debut in 2019 and has been traveling for performances and recordings across the country ever since.

Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., Cheli will play from 3-4 p.m. and then birthday cake and drinks will be served following the performance.

Tickets are $120 per person and can be purchased on the Friend's of the Missouri Governor's Mansion website, missourimansion.org.

This is the first in what organizers hope to make a series at the Governor's Mansion.

"We're just excited to try to bring in different musicians, either pianists or organists or harpists; that's kind of the idea that Mary wants to bring. Anything that promotes attention to the Governor's Mansion, which is our focus and what we're excited about," said Tami Holliday, Executive Director of the Friends of the Missouri Governor's Mansion.
