Helias volleyball sweeps Battle to move to 3-0 in CMAC play

The Helias Lady Crusaders have won three consecutive volleyball matches in Central Missouri Activities Conference play, sweeping the Battle Spartans on Wednesday by scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 at Rackers Fieldhouse.

Izzy Herrbold led the Lady Crusaders with 16 digs, 11 service points and four aces. Addy Bryant and Avery Saucier finished with 13 and 12 assists, respectively, and Bryant added 11 service points.

Claire Carel had a team-high 11 kills, followed by Hannah Hentges with five kills and Cora Steinlage and Libby Gaines with four kills each.

Helias (11-2-1, 3-0 CMAC) plays Saturday in the Camdenton VolleyFest.

In Wednesday’s JV match, Helias defeated Battle 25-20, 25-10 to improve to 10-3.

Kambell Winegar finished with seven kills and seven digs, Ellie Anderson had 10 assists, Liza Boyer had six digs, Addyson Scheer posted five kills and Sydney Suthoff added four assists.

Helias also won the freshman match 25-4, 25-21 to move to 11-4.

Leenah Stegeman led the Lady Crusaders with 15 service points, five aces and seven kills. Ava Meller had five digs and four kills, Claire Sinnett and Norah Lock each had nine assists and Grace Sandbothe tallied four kills.
