Josh Cobb/News Tribune photo: Jon Esterline bought Sk8 Zone in Jefferson City from Gary and Jane Phillips in 2008. In the last 15 years the Sk8 Zone has produced three national champions in speed skating, five national champions in artistic skating, and one member is on the U.S. world skating team.
Jon Esterline practically grew up in a skating rink.
Esterline's parents owned a rink in Marshfield, Missouri, called the Spring Valley Roller Rink throughout his childhood.
