Prep Cross Country: Russellville runners qualify

MOKANE — Joe Stillfield and Ian Larrison are headed to state as individuals for the Russellville Indians after placing top 30 in the Class 2 District 3 meet Saturday.

Stillfield ran a time of 19:04.53 for 26th and Larrison finished 29th in 19:13.83.

Also running for Russellville were Jayden Irwin (20:28.74 for 43rd), Ethan Hickey (47th in 20:36.82), Caden Farris (61st in 21:11.03), Tanner Trinklein (77th in 21:42.86) and Anakin Capazo (78th in 21:44.49).

Riley Connell earned an individual bid for the state meet for New Bloomfield, taking sixth in 18:12.14. Conor Lawrence (23rd in 19:03.68) and Jayson Locke (28th in 19:10.97) will join him as individuals. Porter Hurt (40th in 20:02.07), Andrew Piper (73rd in 21:38.09), Ben Speaks (80th in 21:51.96) and Cooper Webb (90th in 22:36.09) also ran for New Bloomfield.

Reid Baker was the lone Linn Wildcat runner in the Class 2 District 3 meet, taking 104th in 24:59.48.

Baylar Smith claimed a spot in the state meet for Belle with a time of 18:33.68 for 13th, as did Garrett Gehlert with a time of 18:39.93 for 15th.

Connor Weigel (20:12.65 for 41st), Barrett Finnegan (20:53.55 for 51st), Miles Frey (21:39.60 for 74th) Karsin Siefert (22:27.95 for 87th) and Adrien Hoehne (24:06.29 for 100th) also ran for Belle, leading the Tigers to a fifth-place team finish with 180 points.

In the girls race, Reagan Klouzek (23:00.69 for 13th) and Ramsie Tschappler (23:47.95 for 25th) earned state bids for Linn.

Kylie Messenger (52nd in 26:36.42), Elyse Brandt (61st in 27:18.30), Emerson Bowser (70th in 28:30.69), Hope Wolfe (71st in 28:36.53) and Vidella Loughridge (86th in 38:51.27) also ran for Linn.

Addison Baker will go to the state meet as an individual for New Bloomfield after running a time of 23:27.92 for 18th.

Kelyn Tighe (39th in 25:55.68), Ella Trigg (40th in 25:55.92), Marley Hunt (49th in 26:22.35), Addyson Werdehausen (68th in 28:22.20) and Abigail Ridnour (74th in 29:26.73) also ran for New Bloomfield.

Nolie Finnegan ran a time of 22:38.00 to take ninth and a spot in the state meet for Belle.

Tajel McDaniel (34th in 24:46.80) and Natalie Gehlert (37th in 25:06.37) also ran for Belle.

Brettlyn Strother led the Russellville Lady Indians with a time of 30:01.94 for 76th, while Hannah Sapp ran a time of 33:57.66 for 82nd and Adrianna Crews finished in 38:25.50 for 85th.
