Blair Oaks, Helias, Tipton hold spots in state football rankings

The Blair Oaks Falcons, Helias Crusaders and Tipton Cardinals all kept their same ranking in the Missouri Media Rankings, which were announced Monday night.

Blair Oaks (5-1) held steady at No. 1 in Class 3, receiving first-place votes from all nine voters after Friday’s 63-28 win against Seaman, a Class 5A team from Topeka, Kan.

Helias (5-1) remained No. 4 in Class 5 followed a 43-17 Homecoming victory Friday against Capital City.

Tipton (5-1) is also still No. 4 in Class 1, picking up a 48-22 win against Windsor this past weekend.

Blair Oaks is one of four teams from District 4 that received votes in the Class 3 state rankings. Centralia (6-0) is No. 4, Moberly (6-0) is No. 9 and Southern Boone (5-1) was just outside the top 10 but garnered five points.

The Eagles received votes in the state rankings for the first time this season following Friday’s 75-49 win at Eldon.

Helias is the only Class 5 state-ranked team in District 5. Camdenton (5-1) was outside the top 10, receiving one 10th-place vote.

Tipton is the only Class 1 state-ranked team in District 2. Crystal City (5-1) finished outside the top five in the rankings with two points.

Joining Blair Oaks as unanimous selections for No. 1 rankings were Lee’s Summit North (6-0) in Class 6, Cardinal Ritter (6-0) in Class 5 and Lutheran North (6-0) in Class 4.

Lamar (5-1) received eight first-place votes in Class 2, while East Buchanan (6-0) took the remaining first-place vote. Marionville (6-0) also garnered eight first-place votes in Class 1, with the remaining first-place vote going to Portageville (5-1).
