With the holidays just around the corner, it's time to start planning out your gifts. Luckily, the seventh annual Holiday Mart is quickly approaching, and with it, plenty of shopping opportunities under one Jefferson City roof.
Holiday Mart will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Capital Bluffs Event Center.
Among the 400 vendors will be 10 new local businesses joining the lineup. Shop the stalls and find something for everyone on your list, including skincare products, handmade jewelry, baby and children products, candles and more.
Eat Crepe Love will be there serving up fresh crepes, while Bar Vino and the Capital Bluffs Event Center's bar will be serving up holiday cocktails.
After hosting their first few years at the Millbottom, Rachel Hays, one of the founders and the marketing coordinator, said they quickly realized they would need more space for the rapidly growing event.
Each year, the organizers aim to bring in 10 new vendors with the goal of introducing shoppers to new local businesses.
"What makes our event unique is each year we select two different non-profit local charitable organizations to donate our funds to," Hays said.
All of the funds raised, from booth fees to admission price, will be donated this year to the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Service.
Since the event's beginning in 2017, they have donated close to $40,000, according to Hays.
Tickets for the event can be purchased for $5 on Eventbrite in advance, or at the door on the day of the event for $10. A link for the ticket sales can be found on the event's Facebook and Instagram pages.
