St. Louis man charged with firearm offense, resisting arrest

A St. Louis man faces firearm charges after allegedly running from police.

Corey Boston, 28, was charged in Cole County with unlawful possession of a firearm, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement said authorities responded to a report of a suspicious subject knocking on doors along the 1000 block of Southwest Boulevard. Police located a suspicious vehicle, which parked after they began to follow it.

Boston exited the still-running vehicle and left the music and alarm blaring as he said he lived there, then changed his story to say he was visiting a friend. He allegedly provided a false name and began to run.

He was located hiding in the woods and was forced to the ground and detained after refusing to comply, the report stated.

A firearm, which he as a felon was prohibited from possessing, was reportedly found in the vehicle. He did not give a purpose for his visit to the area.
