Jefferson City man charged with drug trafficking, stolen firearm possession

A Jefferson City man has been charged with drug trafficking and firearm offenses after his arrest Thursday.

Tyler McClinton, 22, was charged with second-degree trafficking, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon and a controlled substance.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement states a vehicle containing McClinton and four other occupants was stopped after police saw it turn without using a signal. The occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle after making furtive movements.

McClinton, believed to a member of a local street gang, was allegedly found to have a stolen Glock .40-calibar handgun, $4,600 in cash and various forms of identification belonging to McClinton in a backpack. A THC gummy package with a crushed pill inside was also allegedly located.
