OZARK, Mo. -- It’s time to make some more room in the trophy case at St. Elizabeth High School.

St. Elizabeth captured its second consecutive Class 1 state baseball championship Tuesday afternoon with a 13-3 win in six innings against the Platte Valley Longhorns at Sky Bacon Field.

It’s the fifth state championship in the history of the program and third in the last four state tournaments. St. Elizabeth was making its fifth straight appearance in the Final Four, the longest current streak of any program, regardless of classification.

St. Elizabeth never trailed in Tuesday’s game, scoring five runs in the top of the third inning to take a 6-1 lead. The game was shortened to six innings by run-rule.

Blake Wobbe had three hits and drove in six runs to lead the Hornets in the victory. Gavin Williams got the win on the mound for St. Elizabeth.

St. Elizabeth ended the season with a record of 23-7.
