JC woman injured in parking lot crash

A Jefferson City woman was injured Thursday in an accident in the 3200 block of West Truman Boulevard.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday, Michelle R. Pleus, 52, pulled into a private driveway to park, according to a Jefferson City Police Department (JCPD) crash report.

Pleus allegedly mistook the accelerator for the brakes and drove her 2017 Nissan Armada through a grassy median before skidding into a neighboring parking lot.

The vehicle hit a light fixture, an internet power box and a tree before coming to a stop.

Pleus suffered moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to a local hospital. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
