by News Tribune staff [email protected] | May 26, 2023 at 4:00 a.m.

A Eugene man was injured late Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle Miller County accident.

Richard E. Abbott, of Ulman, was driving north around 4 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri 17 and tried to turn left into a gas station where Missouri 52 meets Missouri 17, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.

During the turn, Abbott's 2004 Ford F150 traveled into the path of Brian R. Kliethermes, of Eugene.

Kliethermes, 55, hit Abbott's vehicle with his 2007 Chrysler Town and Country.

Though both vehicles were moderately damaged, only Kliethermes was injured. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken by Miller County EMS to St Mary's Hospital.
