The South Callaway Bulldogs are playing for a spot in the baseball Final Four tonight.
South Callaway, ranked No. 5 in Class 3 by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association, will play the unranked Elsberry Indians in the state quarterfinals. First pitch is at 5 p.m. at the baseball field located behind the Elsberry American Legion Hall.
South Callaway (22-7) advanced in the state playoffs with Tuesday’s 6-1 sectional win at home against Dixon.
The Bulldogs, who were the Show-Me Conference champions, are going for their first Final Four appearance since 2017, when they won the Class 3 state title.
Elsberry (18-10) came away Tuesday with an 8-2 win at South Shelby in the sectional round.
The Indians have just one Final Four appearance in program history, taking fourth place in Class 3 in 2021.
The winner of tonight’s game will face the winner of top-ranked Portageville (33-2) and seventh-ranked West County (20-4) in the state semifinals at 10 a.m. next Wednesday at Sky Bacon Stadium in Ozark.
