Lincoln University Cooperative Extension Human Nutrition and Health (LUCEN) program and Building Community Bridges are collaborating to offer LUCEN Palooza 2023.
The event is set for 4-5:30 p.m. June 29 at Building Community Bridges, 213 E. Ashley St.
During the event, participants are encouraged to compete in a salsa contest. Fifty percent of ingredients must be locally sourced. Participants must demonstrate they've received food safety training in the past five years (or they may contact Sarah Eber at 573-681-5392 prior to the event for training). And participants must provide a recipe two weeks prior to the event (deadline of June 15).
Prizes are to be awarded for children-friendly (healthy and easy to prepare), best mild flavor and best hot flavor.

During the event, the extension will host a fermentation workshop. Participants and staff will make sauerkraut to take home. Children must be accompanied by a parent. Go to the website to register. A staff member will call before the event to confirm the registration.
