Ameren Missouri to decrease fuel adjustment charge for customers

by News Tribune staff [email protected] | May 20, 2023 at 4:00 a.m.

Ameren Missouri customers will see a decrease in their electricity bills starting June 1.

In a Thursday news release, the Missouri Public Service Commission announced it has approved a filing from Ameren Missouri to adjust its fuel adjustment clause charge.

The fuel adjustment clause allows Ameren to pass increases and decreases in its costs along to its customers, the release said. This charge is separate from the normal rate customers pay.

In this case, the charge will decrease by around $1.01 per month for a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month. That takes the charge from its current rate of roughly $6.27
