Capital City shells out funds for Lions peanut fundraiser

Jefferson City Host Lion Bruce Berger sells peanuts to a driver at the intersection of Dunklin and Madison streets Friday morning as part of the annual Host Lions Club Dusty Deskins Peanut Day. Berger and a couple of dozen of the club members took to the southside and downtown streets and sidewalks early in the morning to try to raise the most money possible for local Lions Club causes.

But the rewards from that bag of peanuts could be large.

A host of Jefferson City Host Lions Club members fanned out across the city early Friday morning to sell peanuts at $1 per bag.
