Missouri softball extends streak to 16 for NCAA appearances

The Missouri softball team will be making its 16th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, as the Tigers learned Sunday night they received one of the 64 bids to the NCAA Regional.

Missouri was placed in the Norman, Okla., Region, which is hosted by the Oklahoma Sooners, the No. 1 overall seed and the defending national champion.

Missouri will begin its postseason against the California Golden Bears (33-19-1) with a first-round game at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Marita Hynes Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN-Plus.

Oklahoma, which has won 43 consecutive games, begins the four-team regional with a first-round matchup against the Hofstra Pride at 4 p.m.
