It's nearly time for the 2023 season of outdoor movies to begin.

In Jefferson City, Stars Under the Stars is a free outdoor movie series that takes place throughout summer that offers a screening of movies on a jumbo inflatable screen under the night sky.

To kick off this season, families will be gathering to watch "Clifford the Big Red Dog" on May 26 at 8:45 p.m. (or whenever the sun goes down).

Other shows scheduled for this summer include "A League of Their Own" on July 7 and "Grease" on Aug. 4.

This year, the outdoor movie series has been moved to the south lawn of the Missouri Capitol, 201 W. Capitol Avenue, after previously being held at Ellis-Porter Riverside Park.

Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair for you and your family. You are allowed to bring your own movie snacks, but concessions will also be available for sale at the event.
