Pickup hits tractor leaving man injured

A Fulton man who crashed his pickup into a tractor on Route JJ Thursday morning suffered minor injuries.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the John Deere tractor, driven by Joshua S. Dunn, 46, of Sturgeon, about 8:35 a.m., was southbound on Route JJ near Route Z, when he slowed to turn left.

James H. Hook, 56, of Fulton, who was also southbound improperly tried to pass the tractor as it turned, according to the report. Hook's Ford pickup struck the left side of the tractor, then spun around and traveled off the right side of the road, according to the report.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

Dunn was uninjured.

Hook suffered minor injuries. An ambulance took him to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
